I was honored to have been able to attend the presentation ceremony for this young Marine. To coin a word of LCPL Baker’s…it was truely amazing. Thank you Marine for keeping us free.
I came home from work one night expecting to hit the road for Oklahoma City when my wife informed me of, (and I quote) “A very necessary change in plans…” Instead of OKC, we headed north for a 13 1/2hr journey to a town in NE Ohio to meet a great family and witness their receipt of an awesome Honor and Remember Flag honoring their family member Marine Lance Corporal David Baker. I had never seen a presentation, and this went off so wonderfully. David’s mom LH has an awesome support system in her kids, evidenced that afternoon in November in 2011. With Lcpl Baker, I am reminded of a song…”All Gave Some…” and the words “Some gave all” now strike a particular chord with me. This was a fitting tribute to a young man who gave all in service to this country. Semper Fi, Marine. Rest easy.
